never went into production and was bought by the studio for just $1.” The 60’s TV Batman was not the first appearance of Batman on film, There were film serials done in 1943 and 1949. A Cadillac was used as the Batmobile in 1943, and Mercury was used in 1949. The 60s TV version used a 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car. The Lincoln was a show car used by Ford for it’s “cars of the future” display, it was never actually intended to go into production."
